DESCRIPTION: APW - Charles Fasoldt, Albany, NY, co-axial double wheel escapement lever chronometer, 18J, 18S, 18K rose gold drum style OF recase with initials to rear, gold cuvette engraved "July 24th 77.," bow with chain guards, crown with attached key retained within pendant via friction to an inner nylon sleeve, "C. Fasoldt Patent Chronometer Albany, N.Y." marked white enamel SS dial, KWKS, co-axial chronometer lever escapement with capped escape wheel, rose gold Fasoldt patent regulator, fausses-cĂ´tes pattern nickel damascene, s#325. Gross weight of assembled watch 86.8 dwt (135.0 g). An attractive piece from one of American horology's most creative and idiosyncratic talents, in total it is believed that Charles Fasoldt's lifetime output was a bit under 450 total watches.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered micro-fine scratches; dial with hl below seconds-register near 7, additional scattered light hls elsewhere; excellent hands, hour with mild bend; case shows little wear, mild ding at lower-left perimeter of rear, good engraving detail; tight bow thinned slightly at top, crown shows light wear; glass crystal with some scratches.
